super friendly, delicious food. let me know that the dumplings weren't vegetarian before I ordered them - very appreciative!
This is like a hidden gem on Lombard near comfort inn. The interiors are kitschy and the staff are very nice. The menu isn't expensive but the food is well priced and good. Compared to the other establishments in the area, they definitely give you better value. If you're staying in the area, you should give them a try.
Acceptable
Delicious food artfully prepared. Gracious host. Reasonably priced.
Very well eaten
This restaurant is run by Kyomin.I had a hostel nearby, so I went to a Korean restaurant and it was very different from the one I used to eat in Korea, but when I was bitten by the salty and sweet American food, I could eat it deliciously. Last year's Chinese New Year review, the boss is kind.
Nice!
Sugarhill is definitely a little hidden gem that hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves quite yet. When we came here on a weekend morning at 11am, the place was empty, even as we left. It's situated near the corner where Lombard forces you to make a turn to go towards 101. The front isn't that visible from the street, so it's easy to pass, but the food is worth a stop!Weekend brunch favorites: souffle pancakes and souffle omlette. The pancakes were so soft and fluffy, not overly sweet. The souffle omlette was a surprise! It was amazingly fluffy and light and it's served on time of kimchi rice (it says risotto, but it wasn't quite a risotto). Get the honey toast as a little dessert to top off your brunch meal!
Wonderful little restaurant across the street from our hotel, the Stone Bowl was delicious, the people were amazing. I could see this as a “go to place†if we were from the area.
Great souffle! Really good honey butter bread!
Love souffle pancake, soft moist fluffy, great brunch !!! Will definitely go back!!
If you consider yourself a pancake connoisseur, come try the fluffy clouds of heaven here. This spot was well worth the trek for me. I had never had souffle pancakes before, but I had been hearing about them, and they did not disappoint. The most surprising part of coming to this spot was that there seemed to be nobody around during peak brunching hours, so if you don't want to wait in a long line this may be the spot for you...until the secret about the magical pancakes gets around town.
I'll give it 4 stars just to leave room for improvement. As a tourist living in the next-door hotel, it was perfectly close following a long day of walking the streets of San Francisco. Cozy little family-driven place with room for only a couple of guests (20@most), service was constant and personal, even from the chef herself. Waiting time for starters and food seemed appropriate and the menu wasn't too big (good for a small place, less waste/more fresh). I can only suggest hiring a second waiter as I saw some guests waiting too long to be serviced when the amount of guests were peaking. However this wasn't a problem for me as i was part of a 6-people party.Prices seemed good considering the nearby-restaurents taking almost double, these were mostly around 20-30$. I recommend this place. Thanks.
Place was quiet so no wait, which I liked just fine but I know some people feel awkward in mostly empty restaurants. The food was very good (I got the bowl and my friend got the salmon) but it was pricier than I would have expected for this type of meal, which is why I rated this 4/5. Service was very attentive and courteous.
A special place. Great atmosphere, great food, loved the presentation, great music, and loved the art. The owner & cook put a lot of effort & love into their food. So friendly and wanting to make you happy with what they have prepared for you.
Really good food. Good prices. Delicious vegan lime pie.
Very friendly service The food was really good Loved how cozy it was
Very good kitchen. Prices in line with the place. Nice location but a bit uncomfortable and not very favorable for the restaurant.Good quality meat, recommended!
We were the only customers in the place so it was like having a private party. We had the borchetta and would recommend it. We ordered the pork chop and when served, only one dish was given to us as the server didnt understand we each were having the porkchop. So they had to quickly make up another. We both thought the meal was good with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Very quiet. Good food. Just make sure the server understands the order. Lol. Worth a second try.
Truly a sensory experience! A beautiful setting and ambiance plus delicious food and gracious hosts equals a magical evening!
Great little mom and pop place, food was excellent!
The atmosphere here is nice and calm. The service was good and the staff frequently checked in. It was not very well lit inside and the food portions were rather small compared to most other brunch places in the city. The food was fairly good but definitely did not seem to match the pricing. The best experience of my visit was the pancakes. Highly recommended!
We arrived early around 5.30pm and had the place to ourselves. Good selection on menu, steaks, crab, and salmon. Very nice people. Food eas dynamic.
Such a beautiful atmosphere! ☺ great food and an amazing staff. I stop in every time I get a chance.
Cozy neighborhood place, personal attention started by server asking if we had any allergies. Small menu which will rotate. I had short ribs served with glorious mashed potatoes chunky with skins, served with spears of Romaine drizzled with the most delicious dressing. Hubby had steam bowl - beef, veggies over rice with raw egg served in a sizzling cast iron bowl, stirred to flash cook the egg. Ginseng creme Brule - crispy top, not too sweet, just perfect for after dinner. What a great find! We'll be back tomorrow night.
I am in complete agreement with a previous reviewer that this delightful, cozy place is an undiscovered gem in a largely tourist area. It should not be overlooked by either locals or visitors. I look forward to returning often and trying everything on their menu.
The raw vegan key lime pie and Rosebud tea were very special
The server is really nice and considerate!! She asked for my allergies first and I find that a lot of places never ask at all. She made sure to let me know there’s a bit of a wait for cooking the food, which is no problem at all. The ribeye was delicious (most expensive though). It’s such a nice place, I’ll be sure to stop by when I come back to SF!
The food was cooked to perfection, the stone bowl was a definite winner for my wife. The burger was probably the best I have had in the entire 3 weeks I have been in the USA. Desert to die for. Definite a must to dine here.
Best dining experience in San Francisco! I have many food allergies and find it very hard to dine out but the staff and chef were very concerned that I should not only have a safe meal but a delicious one as well.
A quaint little spot with AMAZING brunch. I loved the Honey Toast. It's a delicious new take on the toast concept, and hands down my new favorite & an absolute must-try.
Leaving the restaurant, now. It's the first time I've eaten an entire pork chop in 30 years. Hubby had the Stone Bowl... which he says was Fantastic! The owner was charming.
Small place out of the way. Good food and service at a good price.
Great gluten free desert options! Delightful owner. Great value. Delicious wines.
Absolutely lovely food and such friendly staff definitely going back
A fabulous place to eat, food freshly cooked and flavours to die for. Very reasonable prices and the family who run it are delightful and so friendly. We dined there in both nights we were in San Fran and lived it.
You have better choices in the Marinas.
